I checked the Device Manager where the SD Card Reader is listed under "Memory technology devices -> Realtek PCIE CardReader" - so it somehow gets recognized by windows. Oviously I'm hesitant because then I would've to backup the whole data, wipe everything again and send it in and wait for I don't know how long. So the obvious solution would be to contact the Dell Support again but they said if I would have any more problems after replacing anything I would've to send in the laptop.

The strange thing is when I do a hardware scan via the Dell Support Assist it doesn't even list a SD Card Reader to check via the hardware scan. But because this was around New Year 2017 they didn't send me a Dell Technician but one from a private company.Īfter he replaced the display, motherboard and the I/O Board we tested everything except the SD Card Reader because I didn't have a Micro SD Card yet but the USB Port on the I/O Board was fixed, the display was fixed and the AC Unit Port was working as it should again - so all in all I was pretty happy "everything" worked again as it should.īut after buying the Micro SD Card I tried it on my Dell and it didn't work/got recognized.

So after a long and complicated back and forth with Dell itself they sent me a technician to replace my display, the motherboard and the I/O Board (USB/SD Card Reader port). Also my display already had pixel errors. Why the I/O Board (USB / SD Card Reader) was replaced:Ģ-3 months after I bought my XPS 13 (9360) my AC Unit Port on the Laptop was already not working any more + the USB Port (on the I/O Board with the SD Card Port) had a defect when I moved a connected USB Cable a bit the laptop would go into stand by. And because I already have Data (Files, Games, etc.) on the card I don't want to erase everything and try it again when it's empty.

I'm using the Micro SD with my Nintendo Switch so I thought maybe it's because of that but when I plug in the Micro SD via the Adapter in to my Macbook Pro (mid 2014) it get's recognized as "Untitled" and I can open/access it. My SD Card Reader in my Dell XPS 13 (9360) doesn't recognize my Micro-SD Card when I plug it in via a Micro SD Card Adapter from SanDisk.
